CycleOne Coaching provides performance testing for a fee of $125. As a cycling coach, I have a better understanding of the performance data than your average lab technician. More importantly, I understand how to apply that information to a specified training protocol. I have performed over 100 tests on cyclists over the past 3 years using the CardioCoach from Korr Medical. This is a medical grade piece of equipment which allows you to ride your own bike on a CompuTrainer. The CompuTrainer allows me to control the resistance level (power output). You will be provided with a printed reading of the three key points of exercise metabolism...aerobic threshold, anaerobic threshold, and VO2 Max. Prior to purchasing my own equipment, I referred my athletes to OHSU. The testing instruments are first rate and the doctor who runs the program provides a good analysis of the test results, but I was never comfortable with their protocol that required the cyclist to have his feet secured to the pedals with duct tape while riding on a stationary bicycle that is exactly like you would find in your local gym's cardio theater...at a cost of $200 the last time I checked. I provide group packages and discounts on multiple tests as well. If you are interested in scheduling a test, an appointment is necessary.
