Jim Anderson
For the month of August (6, 13, 20, 27), in attempt to get women racers and
novice out to try PIR we are providing these 3 great features you don't get
at every race:
1. RIDE TO PIR ON MONDAY! Beat traffic while supporting the BTA. You get $1
off your entry and I donate $1 to the BTA to support their efforts. Here are
the details: NW Portland Meeting - NW 24th and Overton (George Schreck or
Gary Cornilles) at approx. 5:45, NE Portland - 7th and Holladay Max stop
(Darren Pennington) at approx. 5pm, SW Portland - Pioneer Courthouse Square
at trimet office area (Jon Ragsdale) at approx 5pm.
2. LADIES NIGHT PART II! Many have responded, excitement is building and we
are wanting to get all women interested in bicycle racing or just want more
info to show up on the last race at Monday PIR on August 27th for clinic and
special event. Plan now for this event on 8/27!
3. BABYSITTING AT PIR ON MONDAY! We tried this several years ago, and are
bringing it back. Drop off your kids with us and we will have responsible
teenagers watch them while you race - now you have no reason to not see what
racing on Monday night is all about! Ages 2-5 will have 1 babysitter, and
5-12 will have 1 or 2 babysitters! $8 an hour per child (paid direct to
teens). Please bring favorite toys, games, books, etc. Minor paperwork will
be required. Available from approx 5-8:30pm.
What else? Just show up at PIR and see what it is all about!
