I live in Florence and personally if I was going to ride to the coast
from Eugene I'd use highway 36. 126 is loaded with traffic this time of
year. In fact we locals often drive 36 just to stay out of the traffic.
36 has light traffic during the week days, once past triangle lake it's
all most all down hill. Neither one has good shoulders, but on 36
you'll hardly see semis, RV's or trailers. Pick it up on the south side
of Junction city and go west to Triangle lake. Its also a more scenic ride.
