Chris Bright
This is a reminder that the deadline for me to receive (notice that does not say postmarked) your entry form and fee for the upcoming Oregon State Time Trial Championships is Monday, August 20th. A prior notice may have said August 15th but the actual date is next Monday.
To better accommodate the procrastinators in the peloton and/or those allergic to the glue on postage stamps and envelopes, I will have a drop-off envelope at the registration table at this Sunday's State RR Championships and next Monday's Masters/Women PIR race. However, please direct questions to me and not the busy folks at these registration tables. Before slipping your entry into the envelope, please attach your payment to the entry form and make checks payable to "Emerald Velo." This is a great opportunity to take advantage of having ample entry forms available and your checkbook handy.
We appreciate your cooperation since pre-registration ensures that this very popular event runs smoothly by letting us set an efficient start list, enabling a quick check-in process and minimizing the number of "no-shows." For any additional questions or to mail your entry, please contact me as follows:

In spite of this e-mail, I will expect the annual deluge of calls beginning on August 21st. If you feel compelled to call, please be aware that I have never experienced a failure on the part of the U.S. Postal Service (Go Lance!) to deliver a piece of mail to my home in a safe and timely manner. For those planning the "I'll-show-up-and-they'll-let-me-ride-anyway" strategy, to quote that great movie icon Harry Callahan: "You've got to ask yourself one question: 'Do I feel lucky?' Well, do ya punk?"
Thanks for reading,
Chris
