Greetings fellow OBRA racers,
With cyclocross season just over a month away, I like to give you a quick update about another exciting, new race brought to you by
Portland Racing: the inaugural Kruger's Kermesse Farm Crit.

This fun, cyclocross-style criterium will take place on Saturday September 15 on the farm roads of Kruger's Farm in the beautiful countryside of Sauvie Island, just 20' outside Portland.
Obviously, this will NOT be your usual downtown crit. Except for racers doing mulitple laps across a relatively compact course, everything will be different! The race - open for racers of all ages and all abilities - will probably feel more like a fast and non-technical cyclocross race over hard-packed farm roads, featuring some potholes, some ruts, a sprinkle of gravel, a bit of sand, and depending on the weather, possibly some mud. However, everything will be 100% rideable (no barriers or dismounts). Just think about it as Portland's mini-version of Paris-Roubaix, sans cobblestones. To get a better idea of what we're talking about, check out the course map and some photos posted on our web site at:

Throughout the afternoon and evening, racers and spectators will be able to kick back on the concert lawn, located behind the farm store and right next to the finish line. We'll have a beer garden and gourmet food at hand, catered by Kruger's Farm Market and Salvador Molly's. And we will end the day with a team relay race, a raffle and a live concert, Kruger's Farm style!
So mark your calendars and start looking forward to another great day of bike race fun at the farm!
~Kris
