Doug Hormann
How much time do you have?
I seperated my shoulder (grade 3 AC seperation) during a crash on Glencoe
Rd. 14 years ago. That was a training ride with a friend who was panicked by
a cat and hit the brakes in front of me while we were trading pulls. Then,
about 7 years ago, I crashed after bobbling a landing during a BMX cruiser
race. That one was bad. I remember the gate dropping then waking up in the
CT machine at Silverton Hospital! You know what those things are like;
tunnel, bright light at the end! I'm thinking, "Geez Hormann you've really
done it this time"! Twenty seven stitches in my face and permanent numbness
in my jaw. Can't whistle anymore. Of course, if you want, I can go all the
way back to age 7 when I walked in the front door and scared my mom to half
to death after sliding down the gravel alley on my face after going off a
homemade jump. It's probably a good thing I don't ride a motorcycle...
Doug:)

Subject: [OBRA Chat] Cycling injury
There is a little discussion going on at my house about how dangerous riding
and/or racing your bike might be. If you have never been injured on your
bike could you send me a note?
