I agree.... Cross and XC are super fun! Usually dusty or muddy but that
just gives me other excuses (other than current state of "pruneness") to not
be very fast.

Don- It seems like I am catching up to you! When I started (not so
long ago) trying to race bikes there was a 50+ at the Monday night
PIR. Now, by the time I could use it, things have changed and a
"Master" is anyone over 30. Among the 50+ age range there are
actually a lot of really fast guys, so I don't know how much better I
would do in placing anywhere remotely near the top twenty.
But take heart! Maybe I'll see you at Larch Mt. on Sunday or
Kruger's farm next week. both have fields for the grey beards among
us. If not maybe I'll see you out in the Gorge. Anyway, despite the
decade between us you are still faster, Cheers!

You will probably like hillclimbs if you keep cycling till you reach
50 and beyond. Us old guys like em because hillclimbs and time trials
are about all the racing available to us..Not many wheel to wheel races
for age group racers, and it sucks to have to start with 35 masters if
you are over 50. At least the organizers sometimes SCORE us by age
group in a hillclimb..Maybe when all the present day racers get a bit
older, there will be more racing for you'se guys, but right now, it is
pretty slim..
