FS: Magura Clara 2000/01 hydro brakeset

Hello out there,

I've got a set-- front and rear-- of Magura Clara hydraulic disc
calipers + levers for sale.

The Clara's are a single piston brake that adjust very much like the
Avid BB7's. The inboard pad is "fixed"-- you have to manually screw the
pad in as it wears. The outboard pad is actuated by the piston and is
also adjustable for lever throw.

These would be a great upgrade from mechanical discs-- especially BB5's.

I just converted my MTB to a drop-bar setup so unfortunately the hydro
discs had to go in favor of BB7's. So that means that there's nothing
wrong with them-- I just can't use them anymore. They have the original
set of brake pads, but they're just about at their end-of-life. One good
wet, muddy downhill and they're gone.

These brakes really work quite well. Since 2001 I have only ever
serviced the brakes twice-- first time to replace the original composite
levers with alloy ones and the second time to lengthen the rear hose.
Besides pad wear and replacement they are virtually maintenance free.
When I installed the longer rear hose there is STILL one damnable bubble
in there somewhere that's making the brake spongy.

Here's what you get:
Front and rear calipers ready to go with alloy levers-- NO rotors
Magura "mini" service kit with most of a bottle of fluid + bleed tools +
manual
Original composite Clara levers-- for parts, whatever
A short length of hose

I'm asking a paltry $75. (I need a different stem and maybe some shifter
cable housing for my new set-up.)

If you're interested or have any questions drop me a line. Want to talk
about how awesome Midge drop-bars are on an MTB? That's cool too!

Cheers,
Brian
