For all you who are looking forward to racing at tomorrow's Kruger's Kermesse Farm Crit (www.portlandracing.com/kermesse), here is another update on the course conditions...
Obviously the weather hasn't been completely dry this week. Yesterday, we had some sprinkles and according to at least one person who pre-rode the course on Thursday, there were a couple of slick spots on the course.
Ivan Meadors, who rode the course on Thursday on his road bike, e-mailed me that "[...] after experiencing the bumps at 110 psi on skinny road tires, it seems smarter to use my cross bike with 75psi."
There is no further rain in the forecast (Saturday... mostly cloudy in the morning...then partly sunny in the afternoon. Highs around 70), so the course could well be all dry again, but if you have the option it might be safe to bring your cross bike or some beefy tires.
Hope to see you at the farm!
~Kris

PS: For those racers coming from out-of-town: unlike what was previously communicated, you don't need to sign up in advance to camp at the farm. Just pitch your tent on the grassy area behind the concert lawn and pay the $5 camping fee when you head out in the morning.
