If it's not too late for this year, my family and I will help put on a
simple kid's race. We can likely get other volunteers too.

Subject: Re: [OBRA Chat] Why no Kid race?
Geri (and the rest of OBRA-land)-
We have no kids' race at Hood River this year because we have no one to
organize it. The person who put it together in the past now has 4 kids
and coaches soccer and football. Geri, I know you have put races
together before so I know you know this, but for the rest of OBRA-land,
please realize how hard it can be to get the people necessary to put on
a race.
One of the top reasons races go away is volunteer burn-out. The Mt.
Hood Cycling Classic had nearly 500 volunteer slots to fill over the
whole race (that means 500 lunches to provide). Hood River is a pretty
small town and we are finding it increasingly, and understandably,
difficult to get people to help out.
So, citizens of OBRA-land, please help out at your local races. It
benefits all of us. And if anyone is willing, I would gladly provide
the support and venue to offer a kids' race at our cross race next year!
The fee for juniors is $10.
Thanks,
Jeff Lorenzen

Why is there no kid race? Hood River was one of the first to put
in a kid
race. What happened? It doesn't have to be complex just some
cones set up
on the grass for the kids to race around.
Also what is the junior racer fee?
