Hey OBRALand!!!
My son Grant and I attended a volunteer clinic last night at the Community
Cycling Center to give our ongoing time to support their efforts for the
Holiday Bike Drive. There were about 20 volunteers last night, and I can
say that these folks run a great non-profit organization. They not only
give back to the community by getting less fortunate kids and adults on
bikes, but they also are a very environmentally conscious organization by
recycling bikes to get them back on the streets, as well as get the
component parts to stay out of the landfills.
I would really like to extend to all of the OBRA membership that you can do
a great thing by volunteering for this great cause. You will feel good by
doing it!

Thanks for coming in last night. We had a great volunteer orientation and I
really hope that you and Grant enjoyed your time here and would like to
support us for the Holiday Bike Drive. I am in the process of advertising
for our weekly Mechanic Wrench Parties and I was hoping that you could do us
a huge favor. Would you post the attached message to the OBRA listserve? I
know there are a ton of really great bike mechanics associated with the
group (my guess, just about every one of you) and I'm sure that many would
be interested in helping repair bikes that will go to some great kids for
the holidays. I have tried to post to OBRA in the past, but with little
effect. Your inside perspective could help us reach some people who would
really like this opportunity.
