 I really have to question the financial acumen of anyone to whom the prizes really matter.? Lets see, $3,000 for the bike;

$1,000 for other equipment; costs of travel; entry fees, and ten hours of training per week versus the chance to

occasionally win $50.? Sounds like a good financial plan.

All that expense leaves the wallet pretty thin...



 Also, one of the races with the highest prize money,

Medford, did not have enough racers in

many prize categories to award all of the prizes.?

They'll do better next year. Publicity will get better.

That race kicked beehind! Great course...competition was actually

pretty high. The excitement of roaring around those corners is high for

"love of sport..." add money 25 places deep, and it takes on a mega

thrill all its own.



I definately think there's room for low/no-prize events (no training

like racing), but the money races are special, once in a while.
