I had a great time at Horning's as well. I was very impressed with how
quickly registration went, and I love the location of this event. The only
thing I can see that needs improvement is the awards process; a lot of
people want to get their award and head home, I think events should present
awards and then have the raffle.

HEY! I think Candi must have seen this coming because my current cross
number is "B-204"....She must have said to herself....."Hey Tim, you
must be 204 lbs....so B204 is your number!!!" ... Doh!

Can the new number be your actual weight, So a 206 pounder gets 206, if
there is another the same weight he gets 206 A, 206 B etc, that way you
know exactly what you are up agaist. 500 starts last then 400 then 300
then 200...

As a part time 200 pounder, I would offer that a
Clydesdale category go last in the 11 am group and therefore do the
least laps because we work more per lap than the less gravity burdened.
Here's my logic, our CMI (Cross-Mass-Index) loose relative to the BMI
(Body Mass Index) is higher, meaning that based on PPL (Pounds Per Lap)
a 200 cross racer works as hard in 5.25 laps as a 150 lb cross racer
does in 7 laps....this makes sense right? we deserve shorter races
because we work harder...right? Sure!.....Sounds like a bonus trip to
Burgerville tonight for a seasonal Pumpkin Milkshake just to make
sure!!!

Oh crap! Do I need a another new number now too?

Hey All! Just a quick announcement on the heels of
Candi's email. As you can see the C's/ Masters C's race is still HUGE.
In an attempt to balance the field sizes a bit- we are bringing back the
Clydesdale Category (the big boys- 200+ ).
The Clydesdales will race with the Masters B/ Juniors
race @ 11am.

We will be formalizing this on www.crosscrusade.com
shortly.

* Looking at the C's race, we noted a lot of "larger"
gentlemen. We are thinking/hoping that we will get a fairly signifigant
migration of the bigger riders out of C's and into the Clydesdale
category where they can compete against others. The Clydesdale is not
intended for Masters A riders to come down and sandbag ;-)

with any luck, we will ease the strain on the C category
and bolster the numbers a bit in the 11am start time.

See you at the races!

Ron, please consider wearing a 65 lb. sand bag to meet the Clydesdale
weight. I'm concerned about your statin levels.

How about...

Clydesdales keep their original number and just add zero in various places
so there are no duplicate numbers.

I am eating a pound of bacon with each meal all week... just hoping I make
the cut.

Honestly... I know how much it hurt riding Hornings. I respect ANYBODY
carrying any extra weight. I saw some really tough people making that climb

One gallon of beer weighs about 8 pounds. Of course, you'll spring a leak if you drink that much. Experiment to find your rate of retention and drink accordingly until you reach 200 pounds.

Is there going to be a weigh in for this category?

Lets see;

The biggest riders jostling with the lightest kids starting out... This
isn't going to have a happy ending. Imagine the look of horror as some spry
102 lb jr. is bounding up a steep muddy run up, and some poor 275lb clyde
clutches his chest and tumbles backwards and crushes said jr. Ugly...

I can see the crowds now "... For the love of God, he's just a boy! Why why
why"

MessageGreat, sold my cross bike in July and now all this lack of training and maintaining a nice 220 lbz is going to waste! This sounds great to put in this category and somehow maybe I will make it to a race. Would MTbiking be willing to do the same? Be Kind to the juniors, Candi you have it right if we can catch them, jeez. Thanks to any promoters willing to look at adding in the big eaters!

Can the new number be your actual weight, So a 206 pounder gets 206, if
there is another the same weight he gets 206 A, 206 B etc, that way you know
exactly what you are up agaist. 500 starts last then 400 then 300 then
200...

As a part time 200 pounder, I would offer that a Clydesdale category go last
in the 11 am group and therefore do the least laps because we work more per
lap than the less gravity burdened. Here's my logic, our CMI
(Cross-Mass-Index) loose relative to the BMI (Body Mass Index) is higher,
meaning that based on PPL (Pounds Per Lap) a 200 cross racer works as hard
in 5.25 laps as a 150 lb cross racer does in 7 laps....this makes sense

Hey All! Just a quick announcement on the heels of Candi's email. As you
can see the C's/ Masters C's race is still HUGE. In an attempt to balance
the field sizes a bit- we are bringing back the Clydesdale Category (the big
boys- 200+ ).
The Clydesdales will race with the Masters B/ Juniors race @ 11am.

We will be formalizing this on www.crosscrusade.com shortly.

* Looking at the C's race, we noted a lot of "larger" gentlemen. We are
thinking/hoping that we will get a fairly signifigant migration of the
bigger riders out of C's and into the Clydesdale category where they can
compete against others. The Clydesdale is not intended for Masters A riders
to come down and sandbag ;-)

with any luck, we will ease the strain on the C category and bolster the
numbers a bit in the 11am start time.

See you at the races!

When does Witty start drinking on race day? ( It may become more and
more difficult to qualify as a Clydesdale as more units of beer get
transferred into temporary storage in the Witt-ometer.)

CD

(And yes, I realize that I would always make the cut, regardless of
how many beers Brian downs ... thanks for asking!)

One gallon of beer weighs about 8 pounds. Of course, you'll spring a leak if
you drink that much. Experiment to find your rate of retention and drink
accordingly until you reach 200 pounds.

Is there going to be a weigh in for this category?

Quick question: What time is the weigh-in and will we need to pick up another number just to watch?

Brian mentioned in his email, "The Clydesdale is not intended for Masters A riders to come down and sandbag ;-)"
My hat (helmet) is off to any 200+ guys pounding it out in the Masters As.

As a part time 200 pounder, I would offer that a Clydesdale category go
last in the 11 am group and therefore do the least laps because we work
more per lap than the less gravity burdened. Here's my logic, our CMI
(Cross-Mass-Index) loose relative to the BMI (Body Mass Index) is
higher, meaning that based on PPL (Pounds Per Lap) a 200 cross racer
works as hard in 5.25 laps as a 150 lb cross racer does in 7
laps....this makes sense right? we deserve shorter races because we work
harder...right? Sure!.....Sounds like a bonus trip to Burgerville

One gallon of beer weighs about 8 pounds. Of course, you'll spring a leak
if you drink that much. Experiment to find your rate of retention and drink
accordingly until you reach 200 pounds.

Is there going to be a weigh in for this category?
