Hi:
I've got a very nice cyclocross/ versatile road bike for sale. This bike
works well for a lot of different things. It handles well on the road and
off (especially since I got the flared bars!) It takes fenders or huge tires
if that's what you want. I don't have an image of it, but I could get in one
if needed to promote sale in places remote from Portland.
Frame:
2000 Gunnar Crosshairs, 60X59 -- sloping TT design, so the bars can be
brought up easily to suit taller riders.
TIG'd 853 with
Waterford 531 Cross Fork ( like the 1100 series Waterford cross bike)
Color: Black, minus most of the decals except for the head tube G. Most of
the parts are black as well.

Ritchey Logic 172.5 Cross Cranks (34/48) Ultegra (non-spline) BB
Paul's Neo-Retro Cantilevers (black) with Kool Stop Red pads
Salsa Bell Lap 44cm Cross handlebar (flared drops)

turns out to be a good general purpose set-up and not confusing for more
than about 5 seconds)

Spinergy Spox R2 (2000 - black spokes, the more 'aero' ones with the Sun
Venus extrusion).
These have been flawless for me. Pretty low miles, haven't used them
off-road. I've seen crossers use them with success.They haven't felt stiff
enough on some bikes, but they seem a great match for the Gunnar. They
absorb road shock as advertised.
Mavic Classics Pro (1999) - medium miles, dead reliable and seemingly
bulletproof. Hubs rebuilt by Mavic. One cross race (in good weather!)and
some scattered Leif Erickson is their off road experience.
Ritchey OCR Pro (2000) - Easy miles on a fair-weather road bike. 32/3-cross,
front and rear.
The bike comes with two sets of tires: Michelin Axial Pro (25c) road tires
with a lot of miles to go, and virtually new (used three times) Ritchey
Cross tires.
The bike has only been raced once, and that's why I'm selling it. I don't
use it for what it's intended, so it just duplicates the function of my
other road bikes. The result is that it's probably got less than 1000 miles
on it total -- maybe quite a bit less. It's very clean, with very low wear
consisting mainly of a couple of small paint chips of the kind that are not
evident from more than about a foot away. My main regret is giving up the
Ritchey cranks and the Paul's brakes, which are truly excellent components.
I can provide references for the care and attitude that I apply to the care
of my bikes, so no worries about hidden abuse. I am pretty light for my
size, and not the kind of rider who breaks things very much.
It's ready to go -- $1150. $1250. with two wheelsets -- the only catch being
that one has to be the Spinergy set, as I can't in good conscience put those
on my Rivendell. If you want my Time Alium Atacs, add $30.00. If that
seems high, make an offer. I don't think it's high, and it's less than Erik
T. at Sellwood suggested.
