OBRA Land,

Just when you thought the idea of an indoor velodrome has passed. I
wanted to give you this following update.
Leading velodrome architect Peter Junek has submitted a proposal for
the construction of a portable velodrome for the Pavillon Building at
the State Fair Grounds in Salem, Oregon. His proposal will be put
together will a proposal for a Six Day race at the State Fair during
the last week in August 2008. OBRA is also proposing a 5-6 date
racing series leading up US National Elite Championships and
following in preparation for the first World Cup event. The goal
will be to attract top riders from North America for the largest
single series payday for track cyclists in the United States.
The full proposal will be submitted to Tim Woods, Director of Oregon
State Parks, the week of November 26, 2007. Following the submission
of the document, Portland Velodrome and OBRA officials will be
meeting with Mr. Woods to review the proposal and discuss the next
steps.
