Folks,
It has become clear to the Oregon mountain bike series promoters that
having a volunteer or group of volunteers tracking series point does not
work. So, we are looking for someone new to do this task for 2002. If
you are interested, please contact me.
Here are some of the requirement and skills that are needed by such a
person:
-Excellent MS Excel/Word, and maybe Access skills and knowledge.
-Excellent computer skills in general.
-Must be able to correctly tally points within a couple of days of
event.
-Must be able to do this for up to 16 weeks in the spring/summer/fall
without missing a week for any reason.
-Must be able to answer questions about series results promply.
-Must be able to send out series results promply to a email list.
-Must be able to publish series results as a web page.
You will have to take results emailed to you in various file formats
and document formats and get them into a database that will contain well
over 2000 records.
The pay for this job is going to be around $50 per event. Please
note that you will NOT be making minimum wage to do what we are asking
for. It will take a lot more time than you think it will. Just ask Jim
Fischer or me. You will recieve plenty of questions and will most
likely get the race results from the promoters in the incorrect format
far too many times. It is an important job that the racers appreciate
and count on. It is a LONG term commitment. You will have to find
someone to do it for you if you want to take a vacation during the
spring/summer/fall when a race is taking place. Do NOT think about
doing this if you think it will be easy.
Once again, if you are interested, please contact me.
Thanks, Jon Myers
