Brandt-Sorenson - what is it?

Hi,

People have been asking me about the "Brandt-Sorenson" chainsaw
stickers on my bikes at the last few CX races. I thought I'd post more
info about it here on the OBRA list and hopefully draw some attention
to the cause.

My younger brother Nick (former OBRA racer, now living/racing in Los
Angeles) has started a limited edition clothing project. His first
release is set up as a fundraiser to help offset his overwhelming
medical expenses from a hit-and-run incident with an aggressive
motorist over a year ago.

The Clothes:

This "Limited Edition" cycling kit is an alternative to the typical
bold colors and flashy "euro" style cycling clothes you see out there.
He is hoping that there are some supportive members of the cycling
community that are interested in wearing something unique while out on
the roads, and at the same time, helping out another fellow cyclist on
the mend. The first shipment of clothing is expected to arrive before
Christmas.

A little background:

He was actually hit three separate times in one year, while commuting
to work. The third one left him lying along the side of the road with
broken bones and nothing to his name but some shredded lycra, a
destroyed race bike, and no health insurance. A few months after his
collarbone had healed, he got tagged yet one-more-time by a Prius (in
the bike lane) and re-fractured his bone. Now that's some bad luck and
lame traffic. (FYI, he's had a lawyer attempt to help him recover his
expenses from the responsible party and has been unsuccessful on that
front. Another insurance company shorted him at the last minute of his
statute of limitations, paying only 30% of what had been previously
promised.)

Nick has a degree in fine arts with an emphasis in photography. He is
also a talented athlete who has been training hard to pursue his dream
of racing as a professional. He has shown to have the potential and
just needs a little support to come his way. Seriously, this guy
absolutely rips my legs off.

Thanks for reading, and I apologize if you feel this is inappropriate
to post to OBRA.
