Looks like Idaho is finally breaking ground on their Velodrome
project...also looks like it is going to be a big cycling park for mtb,
cyclocross, and track.

Eagle, Idaho, December 11th, 2007 - The Idaho Velodrome and Cycling Park

Association will be holding their official ground breaking ceremonies on

Tuesday, January 8th in Eagle, Idaho at 5:00 PM. This comprehensive,
multidiscipline, and one of a kind park will be located on 20-acres of
land
at the Ada-Eagle Sports Complex. Attendees will include Nancy Merrill,
mayor
of Eagle, Members of the Eagle City Council including Steve Guerber, the

IVCPA liaison, and Paul Woods, Ada County Commissioner. "This public -
nonprofit partnership is a model for developing community assets and
will
result in the most unique public park in the country." - Eagle Mayor
Nancy
Merrill.

The proposed Idaho Velodrome and Cycling Park is a partnership between
Ada County, City of Eagle, and the non-profit Idaho Velodrome and
Cycling Park Association (IVCPA) for the purpose of developing the
country's first truly multi-disciplined cycling venue. The public park
will include development of a cross country mountain bike trail network
which will integrate into the regional Ridge to Rivers Trail System,
Eagle's first Ridge to Rivers trail head, mountain bike dirt tracks
including four cross course, dual slalom, cyclocross courses, and short
track mountain bike course. Additionally, a mountain bike skills park
will be developed, mountain bike jump lines, and BMX tracks and training
facilities. The cornerstone of the project is the 333-meter outdoor
