I'm looking for some good cycling routes from the Dalles down to the Bend area and further South. I remember some of the route from Cycle Oregon 2000, but if anyone has recommendations, resources (books or route maps from CO 2000), it would be greatly aprpeciated. The goal is to find the great back roads and include some climbs and avoid highways as much as possible. This is for a group of cyclists (mostly retired racers) creating their own van-supported group ride likely originating from Portland and ending at Crater Lake (that is the current thought but the ride is in late May so hopefully the rim road will be open then).
