If you are concerned about getting money you should sell it on craigslist.
If you are feeling like a philanthropist, give it away and write off the
$100.00 dollars.
I do not think you can claim the original price, I mean think about it. What
if you computer was 10 years older than that, it would be a liability to the
organization, yet you still get a deduction?
Good luck

Completely off topic:
Has anyone ever had experience donating a used computer to a non-profit or
charity and getting a tax write off? How much can you actually get? If I
have the original receipts, can I claim the full amount? Also, where did you
donate it to?
Frankly speaking, I am looking to get the most bang for my buck and I figure
a tax write off is going to net me more (maybe?) in the long run as opposed
to selling it to someone online (if someone even wants it).
The basic specs are:
P4 1.3ghz
768mb Rambus RAM
60gb 7200 HDD
128mb ATI Radeon 9000 video card
Soundblaster Live audio card
17in CRT
CD Burner (No DVD)
Thanks.
Dave
