Having been raised in a "Churched" family, I can tell you that Church has never kept me from racing my bike. I've always been able to find a service on another day of the week if I really wanted to go to Church.

Work, on the other hand, is much more demanding. Working in bike shops for most of my life, I've always found it very difficult to get Saturdays off. However, I've always been able to get my employers to agree to give me every Sunday off, and some shops I've worked for are just closed on Sunday, altogether.

Sunday may be inconvenient for some people, but Saturday can impossible for those of us who provide and repair the equipment you rely on to race in the first place.
