Ron and Dorothy Strasser
Tomorrow morning (I know this is late, but the day is supposed to be a nice one as in get out and ride... and help out a little) Ryan K. of PUMP club has a work party out at the Scappoose trails. John Joy (who a good number of you know is the person in PUMP that made the initial contact with Longview Fiber Co. getting us permission to ride out there. He used PUMP as a solid support system to assure them that the trails would be well built and taken care of by users. This is a call out from me... an OBRA and PUMP member to anyone that can lend some time out there to show by 10AM with your bike and some work gloves. We should be able to get some good riding in and help each other moving lots of stuff out of the way/off the trails. I do not know if Ryan is bringing work tools, but I will bring my saw so we should be able to make some good progress with just able bodies if short on tools. Caring and desire go a long way. Come on out and help keep the area a nice place to ride. Ryan asked (on his pump posting) for folks to be there on time. I will plan on waiting 10-15 minutes past 10AM for any late bloomers. Thanks to anyone that can ride/work tomorrow or on other work parties. Lets show PUMP members that OBRA folks are willing to help with trail upkeep as well as just enjoying the ride. Again... I know this is very late notice. I will try to let folks know earlier..... OR.... it would be great if there was some auto process (ok you computer geeks-folks at the top of these two organizations or whoever) that made sure that work parties organized by PUMP were posted to the OBRA site. I know the OBRA site mainly about racing, but my experience has shown me that ALL SORTS of stuff gets discussed and this is very much related to riding/training for racing.
Thanks for reading on a Friday evening when you could be drinking beer, eating large quantities of food, making up for your failings regarding Valentines day yesterday or just riding the trainer.
