I wonder if this will be yet another lengthy police investigation where it ends up that "gee, I didn't see the cyclist" works as a successful legal defense?
Oh, probably not. Motor vehicle operators share our concern for drunk drivers, they "understand" the risk. Not like where some (most?) motor vehicle drivers think bikes don't belong on the roads and therefore it's somehow provides mitigating circumstances
