BB#2 UPDATES

PRE-REGISTRATION. The sign-in procedure will be verbal. This will be a quick
check-in to ensure that you are present on race day. If the line gets big, I
will roam with clipboard in hand to ensure you will not have to cue up...I
promise.

RACE DIRECTION. I too am disappointed by the elimination of the traditional
uphill finish for BB#2. It was my personal favorite. But, alas, it is a fact
that we must accept for this year. I made this decision on advise from the
OBRA officials for the following reason - a 6" crack across the entire road
surface within 100 meters of a finish line is a very, very bad idea. Why,
might you ask, is it such a bad idea? Because, in legal parlance, it is
grossly negligent. And those words are among any sane promoter's least
favorite. The BB#1 course direction and finish location have proven to be
the safest of the many options tested over the years. So, until the road
surface is repaired, the BB#1 course format will hold for BB#2 and 3.

RACE CATEGORIES. Changes have been made as a result of field sizes. The
biggest is that (I am very sorry to announce) the single-speed race is
cancelled for BB#2 and 3. A field size of two is just doesn't cut it, sorry
boys. The other change is that the Master Women will be combined (scored
separately) with the Women 1/2/3, the race distance will be 44 miles (4
laps), start time - 9:20 am.
