mudslinger ramp

Leibowitz, Flo

2008-03-20

Truth is stranger than...There was an alleycat here a couple of months ago where you had to go up and down the stairs of a 4-story parking garage. It was walked or run, not ridden :), but I understood that some folks carried their bikes the whole way rather than lose time locking and unlocking.

I love it. I do think it would be fun!
...And the narrow halls/stairways would slowly transform into a "Bobsled
run" as the mud tracked in on the surface. Riders/bikes bouncing off walls
and Splinter talking about how that tweak against the wall might have cost
the rider/slider up to a full second that will need to be made up after
exiting the structure/run.

This gives me a great idea!!! How about a Haunted House aspect to the Halloween 'Cross Race?!?! Old house, creaky steps, chainsaw/beer wielding maniacs, etc!!!

Oh yeah, mudslinger...uh, no ramp please. I'm vertically (altitude) challenged.

I've always thought a good 'cross course would include some old beat-up
apartment house, where you'd run up a narrow flight of stairs, down a
narrow hallway, down the stairway at the end...

I've always thought a good 'cross course would include some old beat-up
apartment house, where you'd run up a narrow flight of stairs, down a
narrow hallway, down the stairway at the end...

Sounds oddly like another race discipline I've heard is catching on a
little bit...

Or you do what I would do which is...dismount, climb over downed tree,
remount and continue on. So what if I lose some time. Big whooop! I will
finish and race again.
