Hey,
Some updates---kinda long
All pieces of the Willamette Stage Race are coming together and I thought I
would share---sharing is good
Registration 8 fields *willamettesr.com*
Still open and the biggest fields are the Pro 1,2 men and Cat 3's and the
weather actually looks good next week as 56 degree's sounds pretty good
considering what we have went through.
You can Get your packet and or register at Hutch's at 960 Charnelton in
Eugene on
Wendesday from 6-8pm and also on
Thursday at 3pm at the Coburg school before the Pro 1,2 men and Pro 1,2,3
women and Master 40+ 1,2,3 women
Thursday from 6:30pm to 8pm after the Prologue at Hutches packet pickup and
registration for Cat 3 men, masters 40+ men and Cat 4 women and master 40+
cat 4 women and cat 4/5 men
Friday in Alpine from 8:30 am packet pickup and Registration (if space is
available---do not get left out)
Everyone needs to sign a waiver when checking in on either stage 1 or 2
depending on when you are racing. This shows that you did show up to start
Willamette
Each day sign in as well at least 30 minutes prior to staging.
Safety
The centerline is not an option---stay away---I can't save you from the
officials and being disqualified----no exceptions!
Certified Flaggers at all major intersections---please obey them
Give other riders space if its wet and lets have a safe event----*Eugene MTN
rescue will be onsite* each stage with 2-3 people to provide first aide
Be very careful after finishing Alpine as once you finish you will pitch
downhill on a super fast descent----7 miles back to your car and do not
overcook this two way traffic road with no centerline---you may think its
safe but there could be a car coming up
Please wear your helmet at all times
Do not expose yourself
Alpine has 2 porta poties and 4 bathrooms inside
*Post race results posted each night at Track Town Pizza 1809 Franklin Blvd
Sometime after 6:30pm
Massage available for stages 2,3 and 4 by Century Sports massage of
Washington
*
*Prologue--Coburg*
Fast----Flat and quick---great way to get your stage race going.
*Alpine is an absolute gem*----painful 4-6% climbs and yes it hits 12+ at
some points--waterfalls, canopied finish stretch some switchbacks and 40mph+
descents----chunky roads at times but the finish up past the falls is butter
smooth and the 5 downhills and constant 3-4% never ending hills will stretch
you to the max. 2 hr-2:30 finish times. Honestly it feels like a mountain
bike course, due to the fact that it goes up and down so many times.
www.fullcycles.com will have a wrench onsite Friday from 9-noon to help as
needed with repairs
*After the event the Alpine Community Center will be making vegi Black Bean
Burritos and charging 5.00 per meal from noon to 3:30pm--please support them
they are inviting us into their neighborhood and we want to come back
*
*The Planning Mill Crit*-----crazy fast-----super loop----great prizes and
Dave Campbell Announcing the festivities. Kids race before everyone gets
going and its not confirmed 100% but willamette brewing will be on site and
we will be pouring some beer $'s and having a beer garden---do not drink and
race please.
*King Estate*
Wolf Creek----will determine the outcome and bring your legs and finish at
one of the best wineries in the State. Epic course---
Prizes/Cash
5,000 cash purse to be handed out Sunday over 5,000 in prizes and
fullcycles.com donated a Salsa Frame worth 750.00 as well as Rolf Prima has
donated a set of Rolf Prima Tempo Wheels for the raffle on Sunday.
We may have some lodging available soon just outside Eugene as well and will
know more on Monday---
*Thanks for the support and we are getting ladies to enter and still need
more women to make the cat 4 women field work (minimum 20)
Awards for Pro 1,2,3 women and masters Women 1,2,3 as well as cat 4 women
and cat 4 women masters 40+ so lets make a strong showing for stage racing
for the strong women of Oregon.
volunteers are still needed ( a few) if you can help please e-mail
me---extra help is always good
