Hello OBRA racers:
The Second Saturday in April is fast approaching and that, as many of
you know, means another edition of La Doyenne of Oregon Cycling, the
Kings Valley Road Race.
Cameron and I are hard at work putting the final touches on race
preparations. Here are a few updates:
1) As has become something of a tradition at Kings Valley....what
better to go with Kingly attire and gold coins than beer? We have a
new beer sponsor for the race this year: Hop Valley Brewing is
sponsoring our beer primes so be ready to come out swinging on the
first lap if you'd like to have some excellent cold beer waiting for
you at the prize ceremony.
2) Remember that you never wait in line at Kings Valley if you have
pre-registered. You just waltz up to the executive check-in concierge
like Fabian Cancellara showing up at Flanders or Roubaix, announce
your presence, give a regal wave to your adoring fans, and...assuming
all is well with your pre-registration materials...you are done and
ready to begin your favorite pre-race regimen.
3) Speaking of ready.....we always like to have as many support
vehicles for the fields as we can, so if you are racing and have a
friend, family member, or adoring fan that would like to volunteer and
drive a vehicle for us, they will get their gas paid and receive a
tasty lunch...and you will get a free entry. Please contact me via
email Scott.goldstein@summitbankonline.com if you have a volunteer.
3) Further bulletins as events warrant.
Weather is forecasted to be excellent as of today! See y'all at the race!
