No, you dont need an assistant to unclip you from the EXA. It just takes some pratice to reach down and flip that lever. I just clip in to both at the rail/pillbox, then when you are done, unclip one and just roll with one foot. Then just roll to a stop and take out the other foot. Easy
As for #2, I know several folks are still running the old dura ace 7400 with double toe straps.
