The 2008 Spring Thaw Mountain Bike Festival is in full swing and
promises to again be THE mountain bike event of the year. As of now, for
only the 2nd time in our 17 year race history, we will be racing on the
alternate course due to the large amount of snow on the Loop Road. This
was a record year for mid-level snow pack and our connector road falls
right at 4500 feet. This course will still be challenging and the
distances will be close to the same. In fact you will be treated to
almost twice as much downhill single track.
The beginner course will be the same.
The sport and single speed course will be 19 miles.
The pro, semi-pro, and expert course will be 23 miles.
If the weather cooperates, we will use the same course as last year.
Back again, and in a new color for 2008, are those great tech-tee Spring
Thaw shirts. Get them early as we ran out last year.
This year bike demos will be available from Felt, Giant, Orange, and
Nemesis Project.
Go to www.somba.org/springthaw for registration information.
We look forward to hosting you for a great weekend of racing, food and
fun on May 3 and 4.
