Calling all teams!

Well i like parades so who cares as long as they are thowing candy ! ... or powerbars, gel or enery drink packets.. hmmm corn syrup.

Ok i have to admit I would like to see some group mimic the Shriners (you know the figure-8s and stuff). with maybe a big pileup in the middle of the street for added excitement. nothing like the thunk of snapping carbon to get adreneline pumping... well at least all the bike racers in the crowd might jump about with shellshock reactions.

Oh but it looks like you have to march. Ok that might be cool too, full teams kit, Road Cleats clicking and slipping, a little obligatory bulge...
err oops family friendly too

Well regardless I'll probably be there to watch with a visor for waist up viewing if need be. great fun !

Great. show the world cyclists are a bunch of loons. Am I alone here? I

so Dan, organize a bunch of reasonable cyclists who use their bikes and obey laws and look like your perception of normal people.

I think having fun at a parade on a wacky bike is bike fun, and I hope it doesn't give the message that unless you are a loon, you can't or shouldn't ride a bike.

many people ride bicycles to get around town in what use lycra clad folks would call "street clothes". Show us some!!

Portland has a wealth of totally awesome bike clubs doing all sorts of
neat tricks, so lets get together to parade for the masses!

Cirque du Cycling, a Mississippi bike fair in support of SEI, is calling
all bike clubs to come and represent by marching and pedaling in the
nation's largest bike pride parade on June 14th. It's totally free and
a great way to show off your velo pride.

We want to see all the local clubs - from entertainers like the
Sprockettes, down-and-dirties like Dropout, racers like the Gentle
Lovers, the rowdy boys and girls of Team Beer and leisure riders like
Slug Velo. Out of towners are welcome too.

If you can assembled a unified group of five people, you can be in the
parade! Whether you ride fixed, chopped, swinging, tall, fast or slow -
we want you in the parade.

REQUIREMENTS
Teams must register in advance through our website. We are coordinating
the placement of teams in advance. If you show up on the day of the
parade, you won't be able to march. Get it together in advance!

All parade teams must have a team banner at the front of their group.
The team banner can be made of any material but must be at least four
feet wide and two feet tall so spectators can see who you are.

You must have at least five people.

You must be unified, as in outfits matching or bikes coordinated.

This is a family-friendly event. Keep that in mind.
