Less than 2 years ago, an acquaintance of mine-Pete, became more than an acquaintance-he became a fighter, an inspiration, a friend. Pete, at the young age of 22 was diagnosed with cancer. A few months later, I had the pleasure of helping organize and put on a benefit for Pete-more so a celebration where all his family and friends had the opportunity to get together for a good night, and celebrate a good man-with a great heart. That night Pete told everyone thank you for coming-and that since he was blessed with great friends, family and medical coverage-he would be donating the proceeds of the evening to someone who wasn't as fortunate.
Last summer, we all watched Pete, with a warm heart, battle the less than optimal conditions, as he was the guest rider for Team Rubicon in the 2007 Livestrong Challenge.
That brings us to today-less than two years later, after Pete's diagnosis. Tonight, Pete will once again stand in front of his friends, families, and bike lovers -CANCER FREE-and thank us once again-and even more so, the Lance Armstong Foundation-and what it means to him, and all the other fighters out there.

Join myself and several other great people tonight at Laurelwood for the Team Rubicon/Lance Armstrong Foundation fundraiser. All proceeds go directly to the LAF. The love of cycling brings us all together-lets use that bond we share to celebrate life and a great cause.
