Back pain and bicycle riding

So, after some trial and testing and talking and doctor visits and deduction
(possibly induction depending on you docs out there), I've got a story to
tell. Or a bullet list to reflect to y'all (I'm Kansan), purely for the joy
of hearing my keyboard click away.

-So, mountain biking for years. No issues other than some breaks caused
from stupid trees being where they shouldn't. But my back was as strong as
ever. Then a variable change.

-Got a road bike and did a lot of spinning classes. Lower back discomfort
began to develop. And develop. And develop. And then it put me on the
couch with muscle relaxers. A first.

-Went to physical therapy and found that I just had some strained lower back
muscles, started doing some exercises. It helped, but not enough.

-Then I got my road bike fitted and was informed that I haunch over instead
of riding with a straight back down to my tail bone because my hamstrings
are too tight. What do you mean my hamstrings are too tight, I can touch
the floor flat handed with straight legs. Ah, that's because my lower back
is compensating, and thus making me a Cirque du Soleil runner up without the
skill, just the pain.

-So I talked to the bike fit person, and then I talked to the PT guy, and
then the bike fit person talked to me and said I needed to do 'door way'
hamstring stretches while flat on the floor and walla! Long rides and no
more lower back pain. Just ass pain. But I'll save the colonoscopy story
for the more intimate campfire setting.

-Now I will soon need a different road bike with a longer top tube, as the
one I picked out was nice and comfy when my hamstrings were tight, but has a
smaller cockpit then what I need.

Thought I'd share as I know many of you may have some of the same issues.
