Calling out Cobra Kai

That is the funniest fight I have ever seen. Are they serious? That spin
move is hilarious! I think I just pissed my pants.

When I first read this challenge I thought, "Boys, boys - too much
testosterone".
But on further reflection I think this is a great publicity opportunity.
I mean what does cycling need the most these days? That's right - a more
macho image! We'll get no respect from the masses as long as they
continue to believe we're a bunch of pretty boys pedaling around in our
underwear.
So here's what we should do. Tuesday evening a couple hours prior to the
fight do a screening of "The karate Kid" to get everyone in the mood.
Set up an area where the racers can pedal their trainers while getting
ready. Meanwhile, our two fighters can do their own warm up further
enhancing the spectacle. Then the fight, followed immediately by the
race. Imagine the level of excitement and intensity we could create! Epic!
Oh, did I mention we should have the media out to show everyone how
tough we are? Yea, that too. Michael Ball will be so jealous he didn't
think of it first!

Before you get excited thinking that this sort of challenge is original,
it's been done. Several years ago a couple of PA area rec.bicycles.racing
participants ended up in a boxing match:

Brian Trdina vs Andrew Albright, round 1

Perhaps we should charge admission to this event and donate proceeds to OBRA?
Probably not as "bikey" as bike jousting, but would be at least as entertaining!

I here by publicly challenge Cobra Kai to an 80s style point karate match and
I'll put up a $100, to be matched by Cobra Kai with all proceeds going to
the OBRA general fund. Here are my terms:

The best 2 out of 3 - 3 minute rounds
Full body contact, face contact allowed. Face bruising ok, blood results in a
DQ, but only for that round.
4 corner judges one center judge
front and rear leg sweeps allowed, groin is a target area
foam hand and feet pads, no headgear
Basically a roll back to NASKA rules of
the 80s
The match will take place at PIR before the Tuesday race.
