hilarious sandbagging

To be honest, I don't know Jay. I was just looking at the OBRA results listing that was linked in the original email, and based on those results only he isn't necessarily sandbagging.

If this Jay is the one that I think that it is he raced quite a bit back in the 90s and if I recal was a CAT 3 at that time. He has just returned to racing. So lets be a little bit truthful about his experience. I will give you that it takes a bit of time to shake out the cobwebs and to check your fitness. I would think that he would be getting a bit tired of smacking about the CAT 5s.

This isn't sandbagging. He's only been racing for a few months. And if you count the first 10 mass starts as a 5, then start counting upgrade points as a 4 he doesn't have enough to cat up to 3. If he is still winning Cat4/5 races a few months from now, then call him out. Until then, quit your whining and do your best to beat him.

Look at those multiple Ws at PIR in the 4/5 race. Geez, one is enough.

I know this one guy who was (is) a cat 3, and he kept doing quite well
at PIR in the 3/4 race. As I understand it, he was approached by an
OBRA official and told he'd be upgraded on the spot if he ever raced
in that group again. I'm sure this gentleman will be similarly dealt
with. Sometimes people don't realize they need to move on up.

Criminy people...

Is all the rain really starting to get to everyone? Between childish postings and public callouts of a person's ranking, we are all beginning to sound like a poorly written episode of "The Soprano's".

By the way...I think it's really rude to send that comment to the entire
list. Simply emailing the OBRA officials and maybe him directly, seems like
the way to go, rather then passive aggressively emailing everyone saying
"hey, isn't this funny" rather then what you REALLY mean which is "hey, this
isn't fair". I, for one, would feel embarrassed and upset if someone sent
out an email like that about me to the entire list.
