This promises to be a great track racing year and it all starts tomorrow, May 1st with the Thursday Night Series. The next day finds Fast Twitch Fridays getting under way. The day after that is the first weekend race of the year, the Eric Kautzky Memorial. If you have not previously raced on the velodrome, you might want to try the Track Development Classes on Wednesdays.
The third of June starts the Tuesday Night Juniors and Masters Series. This year we will focus on the events that racers will encounter at the State and National Masters Championships, namely timed events as opposed to mass start events.
The other races at Nationals are covered quite well on Thursdays (points races) and Fridays (sprint races) so there is something to do most every night. All of these series' have links on the OBRA website, please check them out and if you have questions don't hesitate to contact the person in charge of that nights racing.
As for Masters Nationals, this year they are just down the road in San Jose, CA at the Hellyer Velodrome. The link is: www.http://08masterstracknats.blogspot.com/ . They take place September 2-7 so there is lots of time to prepare and that's what we plan on doing on Tuesdays.
So there you have it, get out on Thur, Fri, Sat now and Tuesdays starting in June and race your bike. Oh yeah, do a sun dance,please!
