Hal Ballard
Hello,
As a long time League Cycling Instructor (LCI) for Oregon, I have recently
been appointed as an Instructor Coach for the Leagues Region 6 which
includes Utah, Idaho, Nevada, Washington, N. California and, of course the
Great State of Oregon.
To that end I am scheduling a seminar for the weekend of June 12 16 here
in Beaverton to facilitate the certification of new LCIs using the Leagues
curriculum for bicycling safely, assertively, predictably, and enjoyably as
part of traffic.
Following John Foresters dictum that bicyclists fare best when they act
and are treated as drivers of vehicles, this 24 hour seminar provides the
tools needed by leaders of groups, clubs, and ride organizers, as well as
commuters, occasional riders, families and youth as we strive to get them in
the saddle longer and more often.
The Bike Ed program offered by the League is
· Nationally recognized as THE integrated bicycle education program
· Emphasizes vehicular style riding
· Strives to develop the mindset that Bicyclists fare best when they
act and are treated as drivers of vehicles
· Stresses that bicyclists are legal and legitimate road users, and
· Strives to train bicyclists to become comfortable riding on most
types of roads in all weather and traffic conditions
I am inquiring as to the interest in providing this opportunity for your
organization or its members to participate.
There will be a survey posted soon, but meanwhile, feel free to contact me
