John Benenate
A visionary who made things happen.
I remember once in 2001, when I promoted a beginners'
development camp down at Camp Harlow in Eugene, I had
a lot a kids who were fired up for cycling, but were
cat 7s, at best. Norm set them up in the Cherry Pie RR
with their own course and their own prize list
including pies, so they could all be safe and feel
good about their experience. All the children had a
grand time.
Norm was very understanding and creative. His heart
was always first for the kids. His vision for youth,
and strength as promoter/politico will be missed in
the Willamette Valley for years to come.
Godspeed Norm! Go Baby! Thank You!
