Only ONE DAY day until the first mass-start track races of the season!
GOOD NEWS FOR CAT 5 MEN: If we have more than 20 riders register for Cat 4/5
and we have at least 5 Cat 5 racers in that group, we will have a separate
omnium for Category 5! Based on last Thurs nite kilo registrations, this
should not be a problem. We're looking at limiting field sizes for Cat 4 and
Cat 5 to approx 15 riders in each category. There will be a Kautzky Omnium
Winner jersey for Cat 5, as well as a $50 gift certificate from
bicyclinghub.com, where you can buy some cool stuff at their new retail
store in Portland on Water Avenue (near OMSI). Most likely Cat 5 races will
include a scratch race, paced points, and the fabulous Alpenrose Mile.
Overall second and third place finishers will receive some nice merchandise
prizes from either Nike, Veloforma, or River City Bicycles.
So Cat 5's make it happen!
And here's what you'll find at the third annual Eric Kautzky Memorial Track
Race on May 3rd, at the Alpenrose Velodrome. Remember, net proceeds will be
donated to the Eric Kautzky Memorial Scholarship Fund at Tigard High School
(home of the Tigard Tigers) .
Approximately $3000 in Prizes and Merchandise:
+ Hincapie Sportswear custom-designed jerseys for each category omnium
winner. See the jersey that honors Eric's career at Tigard High School at

+ Nike merchandise for the top three racers in each of nine categories,
including LiveStrong jerseys, Nike Golf leather locker bags, Nike duffel
bags, Nike hats, Nike footwear, Nike timing, and Nike eyewear.
+ Men's Category 4, Category 5, and Women's Category 4 gift certificates

+ A raffle for a LiveStrong cap personally autographed by Lance Armstrog.
Raffle tickets are $15 each (with a minimum total of 20 tickets purchased
required). 100% of the raffle proceeds to benefit the Eric Kautzky Memorial
Scholarship Fund at Tigard High School.
+ A prize drawing beginning May 3 ansd ending June 19 at Alpenrose for a
Veloforma F1R frame (more details later). Proceeds to benefit the Eric
Kautzky Memorial Scholarship Fund at Tigard High School. Enter as often as
you wish at Tues and Thurs track nites thru June 19. $15 per entry.
