Just wanted to say thank you to all involved in offering the Track Development Class at Alpenrose.
I was there yesterday and felt it was an excellent introduction to fixed-gear and velodrome riding.
The instructors were thorough in their knowledge, approachable in their demeanor, and generous with their time.
I would have to say that the only thing possibly intimidating for a newbie is the banked corners (42.5 degrees? Yikes!). But when you see a score of fellow uninitiated riders navigate the corners, you are able to muster just the right amount of courage to press on.

The Scoop
This class is your first step in making the steep banks of Alpenrose Velodrome your playground. Learn how to pedal a fixed gear, stay safely on the track and go fast. Class will focus on upcoming events in case you ever want to give racing a try.
$5 for the class, $5 for bike rental.
Please arrive by 5:30 if you need a rental bike.
Bring your own helmet, pedals, and shoes. If you have only sneakers, pedals with toe clips are available.
