Dispersed camping on national forest land is completely legit. Don't camp at
the trailhead.

I've had several people asking about camping options near the ChainBreaker course here in Bend this weekend.

The best campground in the area is only 5 miles from the course at Tumalo State Park. I've camped there myself and highly recommend it.

For those of you who are self contained, stealthy, and well behaved - you can probably get away with camping near the Phil's trailhead area. I know plenty of people who have quietly camped along the fire roads in that area. Disclaimer: it's probably not officially allowed.

The ChainBreaker course is on private property - but using the same stealth camping philosophy I'm sure some have done it, but that would not be my first choice. There will be plenty of folks out there on Saturday pre-riding the course.

Hope that helps.
