While I agree that it's nice to call it to someone's attention offline first as a courtesy, if you're in your third year as a novice, you either oughta know better or you're not paying attention. Racing in the masters 4/5 group is not an "upgrade" from masters novice, it's just where you start once you get your feet wet.
If someone raced beginners in cross for three years in a row (especially if they had some respectable placings) they'd be subjected to much worse that what Will did.

Damn, there's some uptight people on this board! This type of attitude is exactly what kept me from road racing for so long. I really wish cyclocross lasted all year.
