Re: Anyone try out "Ghetto Tubeless" yet?- one more thing

I use Stan's tubeless for XC, CX and recently the before mentioned road set up.

In 2 years I've had 1 flat in CX on a training ride in FP No flats racing.
3 years running it in XC racing 2 flats I can think of and both were related to scrubbing hole in a side wall and a tube would have just as easily tore the tube.

No burpage problems for me and I've run silly low air pressure. 17 PSI at Nattys on Snow with no problems. I routinely run pretty low pressure.

I don't run the Ghetto Style. I believe the key is Stan's all the way, strips, goop, valves.

Has anyone in OBRA-land tried the ghetto-tubeless system yet? If you don't know what I'm talking about, it's basically using a 20" tube and cutting it in half to replace a Stans rim strip (or comparable one) and going from there.

I'd love to know if you've tried it and how it's holding out (i.e. is it holding air well? what's the seal like?...)
