Cyclists,

Let me encourage you to try an excellent cross-training sport: Inline

Short-Track Speed Skating. If you?re not involved in cyclo-cross ? or

even if you are ? speed skating is an excellent sport for the rainy

season. Our sport is an excellent cardiovascular workout. We work on

developing interval speed training, pace-line exercises, core-strength

development, sprinting and endurance training four times a week.

If you?re interested in pursuing this invigorating sport during the off

season, we are offering beginning speed-skating lessons at Oaks Park

every Saturday, from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. to get you started. It is $5 per

class or $18 for four classes and a free T-shirt. I just happen to have

a coupon that will get you your first lesson for free. A helmet is

mandatory.

If you would like more information, feel free to call me at 503-287-3308

or the Oaks Park rink at 503-236-5722. Or e-mail me at

teddiem-@yahoo.com. You can visit Oaks? Web site for driving

directions at www.oakspark.com.

No need to mention Eric Heiden. You get the idea. We are eager to have

new skaters join us. We would heartily welcome you to Team Oaks!
