Bear Springs Trap-- awesome!

Bear Springs was most fun so far this year even though I flatted (I know
Leet. I need to switch to tubeless)! I was rocking! That does not mean I
was winning, but going faster on downhills than ever. I do not know how
smart that was, but it sure was fun. The course was in great overall
condition. Petr and crew really did pull it off, but I believe that their
hard work were the final details that put it together. The most important
thing this year was pushing it back a few weeks and not just CANCELING it
because of the snow. Thank you Petr, and Half Fast (Falls City... coming
up) for moving dates. My absolute favorite part of the course this year was
the log foot pads that floated away. I was on total "sheep mode... as in
one foot in front of the other", when all of a sudden there were no more log
foot pads. They were all about 6-8' down stream so a nice cool hike through
the water later I was smiling and saying "yeah baby" that felt really great.
BIG FUN! Brian you were right. We were not the only ones that had a great
time. But we also did work hard. I slept like Gus Tonkin and Ian Baker
last night!

91 degrees and snow on the ground, major league course, great camping on site, Jeannie Longo motoring by on the nearby highway during the Mt. Hood Classic; What more could you ask for?

So, a toast of Pilsner Urquell to Petr, Greg, Tyler and the rest of the folks from Hurricane Racing. These guys performed some pretty superhuman exploits to pull this off this year. The course was still covered in snow only a week ago and on Saturday, Petr nearly killed himself trying to clear snow from the Rim Rock loop for the Pros and Experts. I didn't catch his name, but the guy from the Forest Service even got in the action and helped out on the course on race day. If you haven't come out for this race before, please put it on your calendar for next year as it is truly a great event.

I was wondering the same thing...

It was an awesome course--make that 2 awesome courses (for those of you who
missed the Short Track), and a well-run race. I had a ton of fun and look
forward to next year.

It's weird-- I've not seen a word about the Bear Springs Trap. My
first time this year-- it was an awesome course. Lovely singletrack.

Thanks to Petr, Sellwood, the USFS and all the folks who made that
bitchen ride possible!

Seriously-- If you've got a mountain bike you should get up there
next summer.
