Falls City Course Update

As some of you have heard, the CAPITOL SUBARU CYCLING team is responsible for the course at Falls City this year. We have been working with BRMBA, ODF, and Kevin from HALF FAST to put together the ultimate race experience possible at this venue... Here are some things to remember: PRERIDERS: NO UPHILL trail riding allowed at Black Rock except DURING the race on June 1st.These trails are DOWNHILL only--for obvious reasons, please comply!!!

OBEY speed signs around CAMP TAPAWINGO!!! Be nice to the soccer field and driveway as this is their property.
Also, leave the potty mouth, alcohol, weed, etc at home for one day. This is a church camp and should be treated with respect even if you don't have religious convictions!!! They are really cool and could shut the whole thing down if they wanted to... Course description:~6 miles per lap (Pro/Semi ~30 miles, Expert ~24, Sport ~18, Beginner ~12miles)Each group will do a start lap that is SLIGHTLY shorter maybe 5 minutes1000+ feet of climbing per lapOver 80% singletrackPossibly 4-5 quick dismounts (think 'cross)--none if you have really good! There is vitually no mud on the course and it was in nearly perfect condition on Monday--enjoy! OK, now some words of advice (wisdom) and you will hear this again on race day: ONLY YOU CAN KEEP FROM MAKING A WRONG TURN!There will be over 1200ft of marking ribbon, 10 cans of paint, and multiple corner marshalls but it is still up to you to stay on course! THIS IS REAL MOUNTAIN BIKING!Leave your cross and rigid bikes at home unless you want to suffer excessively. If you feel like you are going too fast--you probably are and should SLOW down.Everyone gets TWO chances minimum to ride the DOWNHILL portion of the course so take it easy the first time so you don't race to the ER!There are ZERO jumps or stunts you HAVE to ride--there is one uphill bridge and one downhill bridge, though. Don't BONK!This is a lap race, no excuses for not taking a bottle at the lap point. Please direct questions or comments to me plewse@hotmail.com we plan to host more frequent events at BR in the near future! On race day find a Capitol Teammate and they can help you get sorted. Please thank and donate to BRMBA--this is their playground and it rocks! Ciao.

PS. There is probably a lot more than this--please put your thinking caps on and use some common sense... you will have a totally RAD experience and we will all live happily ever after!

THANK-YOU.
