From my research for several social bike groups I belong to it seems that potassium is the most likely thing your body needs if you are experiencing cramps. There are many websites listing causes and cures, just google "leg cramps +potassium". That being said, it's a lot like getting rid of moss in the lawn, no one thing is a sure cure. Cramps are the muscle's way of telling you that they aren't getting what they need. It might be that your body doesn't have a supply of the element the muscles need, or it might be that there is just not a good conduit for transporting it. Be sure you drink enough fluids, be sure to take supplemental electrolytes either as part of your drink or as part of your solid food intake, especially on hot days or high output endeavors.(magnesium is one of the elements included in "electrolytes") and when given a choice of snacks/food, choose ones high in potassium. Cantaloupe, honeydew melon, banana's and a host of other foods (see Google) commonly found at supported rides are high in potassium.Best of luck,Kevin+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++What is happening in Kevin's corner of the bike world?http://the-whir-of-spokes-in-air.blogspot.com+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++--- On Tue, 6/3/08, Brian Johnson wrote:
