I took my polar to the Lloyd center a few weeks back, and they have a repair
person at one of the big stores (I can't believe I already forgot, but it
might be Macy's) I just asked the first jewler and they directed me there.
It was around $10-$15 for the repair, and it was nice to avoid all the
mailing back and forth to polar. I have since gone swimming with my watch
and it has been totally fine.

I think Polar HRM need to be sent back to the manufacturer for battery
replacement, if you care about the warranty. Not 100% sure about this,
but I believe it goes for both chest straps and watch units, so check
with the place you bought it from before attempting to do it yourself.

I easily replaced the batteries on my Polar computer and the cadence/speed
sensors. Of course, they were all off warranty so it wasn't an issue.

You can also purchase the batteries at Battery
Plusand replace them yourself. There
are three locations in the Portland area
and they carry just about every battery known to mankind.

I recall the topic of Heart Rate monitor (watch) battery replacement on here
awhile back, and someone mentioned a watch repair person in the downtown
area (2nd street?) that did this type work. Thanks, Rich
