Multnomah County is planning substantial repairs to the Broadway Bridge in

2003. They are considering two options: 1) to close the bridge entirely

and 2) to close the bridge partially. The first would be cheaper but

substantially disrupt access across the river.

To help them decide, the County has prepared an electronic ballot for public

input. The link to that ballot is below. We request that you complete the

survey -- recommending the partial closure. We also ask that you forward

this survey and recommendation to your staff. Absent a strong expression to

keep the bridge open, budget constraints will pressure the County toward the

full closure option. The survey ends this Sunday, November 11th.
