I agree that's why I avoid being brainwashed, by only watching Sponge Bob and Dora the Explorer with my kids.
Remember:
Facts all come with points of view
Facts just twist the truth around
Facts are living turned inside out
Facts are getting the best of them
Facts are nothing on the face of things
Facts continue to change their shape
I'm still waiting, I'm still waiting

Of course I am dating myself here, but this is some of the most memorable song lyrics I have ever heard. Not as poignant as 'shout at the devil' or 'dirty deeds', but a touch more poetic.

Remember that the media is a vehicle of propaganda. A huge amount of
American behaviors are impacted by what they see on that television sitting
in what is usually a "place of honor" in the usual home (cyclists included).
Just have to remember that you can't believe everything you are told on the
boob tube (like weapons of mass destruction etc.). I agree with Maus with
regard to actually impacting the process, but these polls get exposure be
they accurate or not. Casting a vote on them is not necessarily good or
bad, but you have to admit as a cyclist, it would make you feel better if
they had a huge margin of support. I find it interesting that they do not
mention pedestrians etc. in the description. Anyone seeing this on the TV
that thinks bikes are just in the way of their more important movement in a
motor vehicle will vote no on the pole. Peds and bikers voting can at least
can help offset the lopsided number of drivers that might vote. And lots of
people will see the results.
