Job Opening:

Vice President of Member Services



Description of Work:

The Director of Member Services is responsible for the development,

implementation, and management of the membership business goals of

USA Cycling. Responsibilities include marketing to our more than

60,000 members; the development of long-term strategies for member

service including a strategy for use of the internet; the development

and implementation of member affinity programs; communication through

our various publications; and the management of three in-house and up

to seven regional member service coordinators.



Business Responsibilities:

* Develop, implement and manage multi-year membership plan

considering the following components:



* Growth

* Servicing

* Marketing

* Communication

* Work with Senior Managers to develop and implement long-term plan

* Develop and manage annual budget

* Develop strong sense of teamwork and camaraderie among

in-house and regional service staff



Management Responsibilities:

* Manage member service staff (license servicing; renewals; new members)



* In-house promoter service staff (event permitting)

* Regional member service staff (Regional Coordinators)

* National Ranking Program staff

* Manage in-house receptionist and mail clerk

* Manage temporary help on an as-needed basis

* Manage Communications Department and oversee all member publications



Communications:

* Communicate and work with Marketing Director to develop and

implement membership affinity and marketing programs

* Communicate with Regional Coordinators on all programs that

affect members

* Organize and conduct annual membership congress



Supervision Received: Works under supervision of CEO and COO



Qualifications:

* Excellent management skills with experience in personnel and

budget management

* Excellent marketing skills

* Excellent communication skills

* Strong problem solving skills

* Broad knowledge of computer use and operation in a membership

management/services environment

* Strong sense of teamwork and ability to work as an integral

part of senior management team

* Self motivated and able to work without supervision

* Willingness to work extended hours and travel as necessary

* Professionalism, creativity, maturity, leadership, and

experienced public communication skills



Education:

* Bachelors degree or equivalent experience in marketing,

communication, or related field.



Experience:

* Professional experience with marketing, communication, and/or

fulfillment in a nonprofit membership environment.

* Familiarity with the sports industry, and specifically

competitive cycling: mountain biking, road, and track cycling.



Salary Range:

Commensurate with experience
